Dental and Vision Coverage

When shopping for Medicare Advantage plans on the Medicare.gov website, take note of the small, circled Ds and Vs included in the plan listings. These are indicators that the plan includes dental or vision coverage. There should be a link titled, “View More Detailed Cost and Benefit Information.” Click this to get more information about these additional benefits.

Prescription Drug Benefits Through Part C

There are essentially two ways to get a prescription drug benefit plan through Medicare. One way is to use Medicare Part D (discussed in the following chapter). The other way is to choose a Medicare Advantage (Part C) plan with a prescription drug benefit. Sometimes, the latter option is denoted in the literature as (MA-PD).

As with other health insurance services offered through Part C, different plans will have different prescription drug benefits. As was mentioned previously, the Medicare plan finder tool at plancompare.medicare.gov will require you to enter in all the prescription drugs that you take and will advise you on a Medicare prescription drug plan accordingly.
